Name: Dawn Fletcher. I'm a chiropractor, recently certified by my animal chiropractic school in Kansas and by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association. I really enjoy talking to horse folks
Age: 47 Location: Fallbrook, California Style of Riding: I've been involved in many styles over the years: hunt seat, dressage, Western pleasure, many saddle miles on the trails Number of Horses: 2 Describe your horses: I have two treasured, aged, retired Quarter horse geldings: Casey, 29 years old and Doc's Music Maker, 28 years old. They've been part of my family for the last 19 years and have seen me through many phases of my life. In addition to being an animal chiropractor (retired from humans), I'm a part-time therapeutic riding instructor for the disabled, so my "extended" family of horses includes those very special ones that calmly & trustingly provide riding therapy to the students. Show us some pics: I will have to shoot some more recent ones of my own kids. You can check out one of the Norwegian Fjord therapy horses on www.myspace.com under Dr. Dawn, Fallbrook, CA. |

Dear Dr.Fletcher, We've (members on a gaited messageboard) been having a discussion about horses that balk and back. Most people are saying that the horses front shoulders are sore. Does this sound true or could it be that this horse is out of shape in training? I have a horse that stops during riding some times and ocationally will back up. Most of the time my gelding is stopping on trails on hills. This gelding is only 3 and just started ride a few trails this year. I have no problem getting him going in the open when I have times to turn him. -Diane |

Hi! I found your post via an internet Google on Doc's Music Maker. I have a Doc's Music Maker mare who is 22 yo. I have owned this mare since she was in single digits, and she has been a great broodmare for us. I am interested in your Doc's Music Maker. Could he be my mare's Sire? Would you mind sharing some info about him with me?
Thanks! Kristy |
